Lactation Consultations

Breastfeeding Support Services
Breastfed babies and their mothers have many long term benefits (see below). I know how important having one-on-one support is for new moms and believe it is best done in the privacy of your own home where you are most comfortable. I am here to support you to get breastfeeding off to a great start and to continue for as long as you both desire.

Together, we will create a plan to improve your breastfeeding relationship which we can revise as necessary by follow-up communication via phone, email and text.

I can help you with…

During your consultation…

I take a thorough history,
conduct a physical assessment of you and your baby,
perform a naked weight of the baby,
then a dressed weight before your baby eats,
I watch the feeding and make recommendations to improve positioning and latch,
then weigh the baby after the feeding to determine the amount of milk transferred. My scale is a professional grade neonatal scale and is incredibly accurate (1 g/.05 oz),
develop a doable care plan.

After the consultation…
Up to two weeks after our consultation you are welcome to call or email with additional questions or concerns. I will send an email summarizing our visit which will include additional resources.
